Breast augmentation is a popular cosmetic procedure that is done to enhance the breasts. Breast augmentation adds to the breast size by using several techniques, including implants and contouring. Breast size is important to many women and adding to your breast size can give you the confidence you need. Increasing breast size is done to help increase fullness, improve self-image projection, and balance the figure. Implants can be silicone or saline—both are good options to give the most realistic look and feel. The size and shape of the implants is determined before surgery based on your desired outcome; implants are placed behind the breast tissue. Depending on the patient, either local or general anesthetic may be used and the breasts will heal within two to four weeks after the surgery.
