Breast Implants Comments (1)

RUSSIA MODELWorldwide, news about breast augmentation and breast surgeries make the news. For instance:

  • In Venezuela, candidate Gustavo Rojas, running for a seat in the national assembly, found himself running short of cash. So, thinking outside the box, he organized a raffle with breast implants as the grand prize. Who knows? Maybe a manufacturer of breast implants will step up and become a major donor.
  • In Russia, model Irene Ferrari with gigantic size F breast implants, has not had the best of luck on airlines. In June, 2009, one of her implants burst when her flight was landing in Los Angles. More recently, Irene’s Swiss International flight  hit some strong turbulence  that threw the model against the seat in front of her, causing “bruises and strong pain” in the left girl. Guess what? She’s suing for $100,000 Euros ($121,000). But the party in the first case who had to pony up was not the airlines but the French plastic surgeon who provided the extra large implant.
  • Doctors recommend making sure your breast surgery does not interfere with a woman’s ability to nurse. Why? Not only does breast feeding provide health benefits to the baby, a new study finds that mothers who do not breast feed their children have a higher rate of Type II diabetes later in life, compared to new moms who do nurse.
  • The University of Pittsburgh studied 2200 women, aged 40 to 78. The study revealed that 27 percent of moms who did not nurse developed Type II diabetes. That was double the rate among women who did breast feed or women who never gave birth. Many women who have breast fed later see plastic surgeons about breast lifts and breast augmentation.
  • Breast implants carry a common risk – infections. Some cosmetic surgeons won’t let breast augmentation patients shower for 14 days for fear of water washing stray germs into the incisions.

Case in point: Performer Sheyla Hershey claims the world’s largest breast title at size 38KKK after nine surgeries.

But a breast plastic surgeon’s worst fear – infection – may take Sheyla’s implants, her natural breasts and, possibly, her life. To fight a serious staph infection, Sheyla takes intravenous antibiotics every 12 hours, according to the Houston Post.

Lesson? Have a serious conversation with your plastic surgeon about risks of any surgery. And don’t tempt fate!
